This page is about Chevy repair manuals and the reasons why you will most likely be happy with the amount of information included in the online versions when it comes to General Motors vehicles. Note that online the availability only goes back to 1982. You will not find online diagrams for this 1976 Chevy Chevelle Laguna SS.
Don't miss the four minute video at the bottom that shows you what the Chevrolet Tahoe blower motor wiring diagram looks like and how to use it to solve related problems on GM automobiles. When it comes to the quality of the auto repair information in any web based service manual it really boils down to what was provided to them (Garbage in Garbage out).
The more information that is received from the manufacturer the more repair diagrams and service bulletins will be contained in the online version of that manual.
Hats off to Chevrolet for providing what looks like all information contained in the professional dealership publication to Mitchell repair manuals and other information services. Wag of the finger to the foreign car companies that don't want to share high quality reference materials.
This boils down to an ongoing and raging debate about whether or not car manufacturers should be obligated to supply auto repair information to the public and aftermarket repair shops. Law makers are pushing legislation called the right to repair act that will assure the information to fix cars remains available to the general public.
Some automakers are fighting for the right to withhold this repair information and are lobbying against the bill. Why are they against making this information public?
If you think about it, if this information is withheld then only dealerships would have the needed information to perform all repairs. The do-it-yourself car mechanic and local repair shops could be left out.
Chevrolet and the other General Motors products as well as most American car manufacturers believe that you have the right to repair your vehicle. This is why the information that all data provides in its online auto repair manual service is directly tied to the amount of information that is supplied from the car-makers.
Long story short, when you subscribe to a repair manual service not all vehicles are created equally. In fact some vehicles have a lack of quality information. Personally I have found the best ones to be from Chevrolet, Chrysler and Ford Motor Company.
The Japanese vehicles are also well represented like Nissan, Toyota and Honda. I think the worst ones are from German automakers ( My opinion ). Some Korean made vehicles don't supply as much information as you would find in a Chevy repair manual.
Below in the video I do not mention it but the wiring diagram is from a popular online service manual. At the time of this writing their demonstration vehicle is a 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe.
This wiring diagram is the same exact one provided in a professional Chevrolet dealership publication. If you happen to be looking for information on how to repair your blower motor in a GM vehicle this video will probably provide all that you need to get the job done.

If you happen to have a 98 Chevrolet Tahoe then this is your lucky day because the wiring diagram video below provides fantastic information for the do-it-yourself auto mechanic. Also note that the front blower motor has the same layout and wire colors across many years and GM models.
The blower motor diagnostic techniques in the video can still be useful even if your car has different color wires. The theory of operation applies to many cars and trucks. All data switches up the demonstration vehicle often. I don't know what vehicle is available today. If you're interested in trying the demo a link is provided below the video.

I have a few more pages about how to use repair diagrams to fix your vehicle and home. This next link will take you to the beginning of the car repair and service manuals section. Here you can see an older video that talks about how to use a ladder type repair diagram to replace a water pump on a Chevrolet truck.
